All our staff are DBS checked and have carried out safeguarding training. There is always a member of First Aid Trained staff present at all lessons.

We also have a fabulous team of Junior Coaches who assist us each week too.

Megan - Owner/ Principle

Megan is the main teacher at Duchy Dance Academy. She established the academy in 2022. She has been in a paid performing arts teaching position for 12 years and coaching cheerleading for the past 8 years after her time competing and coaching her university cheerleading team. She has a Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance). She has competed Nationally and Internationally and also appeared in professional productions whilst living in London. Megan has trained in RAD, IDTA and LAMDA and now holds numerous dance and cheerleading qualifications, including being a BGU Platinum Standard recognised coach too. Megan started Duchy to share her love for the art and pass on her passion and knowledge to the next generation of dancers and athletes.

She has Level 1-3 Cheerleading qualifications, along with specialised SEND qualifications for Cheerleading and Dance.

Eve -
Dance, Cheer and Musical Theatre Coach

Eve coaches dance and cheerleading and assists with Musical Theatre. Eve has been dancing for 21 years and has performed in many prestigious locations across the country. Eve has studied a range of genres, taking exams with the British Theatre Dance Association in various styles, including lyrical, modern jazz, tap, and ballet. Eve has a level 3 CTEC in Performing Arts and was the dance captain for her local pantomime before moving to Cornwall. She studied teaching at The University of Worcester, where she was an active member of the Cheerleading and Dance Society. Alongside our classes, she is a qualified teacher in the local area. Since moving to Cornwall last year, Eve has maintained her love for dance by running dance clubs and joining online classes. Eve is looking forward to sharing her passion for dance and performing with all our students.

Aimee -
Dance, Cheer and Musical Theatre Coach

Aimee is a current third year student at Falmouth University working towards her degree - BA Hons in Musical Theatre. Alongside her studies she has already gained multiple teaching qualifications through BGU and is also recognised as a Platinum Standard coach. Aimee herself still competes nationally and is a great inspiration for our students. Aimee works a lot with our street and hip hop classes and continues to grow with us as she finishes her university degree. She brings her knowledge of performing arts to our drama and sining students each week. She is an active member of the musical theatre society and performs with them frequently in various shows and productions throughout the year.

Jessie -
Assistant Cheer Coach

Jessie is a passionate cheerleading coach and longtime cheerleader, having grown up and continuing to compete in the sport. Currently studying Fine Art at Falmouth University, Jessie has become a qualified cheerleading coach alongside her role as Captain and Dance Coach of her university cheerleading team, leading two competitive teams, two stunt teams, and additional performance teams through practices, performances, and competitions, as well as managing the team and logistics. Through her role as a dance coach, Jessie has fallen in love with creating and teaching choreography, and is excited to continue on her coaching journey with Duchy.

Maddie -
Tumble and Assistant Cheer Coach

Maddie grew up doing gymnastics, and has been coaching beginner to intermediate classes since 2018. She didn’t start cheerleading until university but wishes she’d discovered the sport earlier! She was the tumble coach and joint choreographer of her Uni cheer team for 2 years, and is a qualified Level 1 coach. Her favorite parts of cheer are stunting and tumbling, and she hopes someday to learn to fly partner stunts! She knows how important it is to have fun and make friends in cheer, and hopes to bring loads of energy to every class. She’ll be assisting with teaching acro and cheer on Wednesdays, and can’t wait to meet everyone and get started!

Tom -
Guest Tumble Coach

Though Tom is currently not living in Cornwall, he is very much still a part of our coaching team regularly coming back to teach guest workshops and cleaning routines before competitions.

Tom holds numerous qualifications with British Gymnastics and has held various coaching positions over the last 10 years.

Tom also was inspired by the world of cheerleading and gained the position of Tumble Coach for his university cheerleading team.

Junior Assistants

We have lots of our lovely senior students who give up their time to help assist in our classes week on week. Each of our junior assistants are working towards junior coaches qualifications in either dance or cheerleading. They help make lessons fun and enjoyable for all those who attend classes at Duchy Dance Academy.

Maisie C

Maisie is a junior assistant at Duchy Dance Academy. She is currently studying BTEC dance in school alongside her GCSE’s and has competed with Duchy since the beginning. Maisie has been dancing since she was 2 years old and is very excited to help share her passion for dance with the next set of young dancers.
